Planted Session 6: Why You Are Unstable

 

Ephesians 6:11 — “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” 

  1. As the Apostle Paul closes his letter to the Ephesian church, what final challenge does he give them? What does he say in verse 10? Where are we to find our strength?
  2. Where are we seeking strength if we are not living in the power of God?
  3. Why do you think the church at Ephesus needed to hear this message? What was going on in the early church in this region of the world?
  4. What is Paul’s command to the church in verse 11? What does putting on the armor of God give us the ability to do?
  5. According to verses 12-13, what is our greatest battle? Why is this battle so challenging to fight? How is this battle different than a physical battle? Without the power of God’s might, why are we helpless against spiritual battles?
  6. Verse 13 speaks of us withstanding the ‘evil day’. What does this mean? What is the ‘evil day’? What does the Bible say about the ‘evil day’ in 2 Timothy 3? Are we living in the ‘last days’?
  7. How might we be better equipped as a church to withstand the evil of our day?
  8. How does this apply to your life?
